ATTENTION !
new parents

What are the signs that my child is ready to be potty trained?

The signs are:

  • Your child is dry after nap.
  • Your child stays dry at least 2 hours at a time during the day.
  • Your child's bowel movements are regular and predictable.
  • Your child's facial expressions, posture or words, suggest he or she is about to urinate or have a bowel movement.
  • Your child can follow simple instructions.
  • Your child can walk.
  • Your child seems uncomfortable with soiled diapers.
  • Your child asks to use the toilet or potty chair.
  • Your child asks to wear grown-up underwear.

Before the child is ready, the parents have to be ready,
knowledgeable, and willing.

Believe me, it is the parents, first and last

INFANT GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT:

For any child, the period between birth and three years of age is a critical time of development and growth. Research indicates that a baby at infancy at that stage is defining personality, future learning ability, and emotional attachments.
( Fadia)

PERSONALITY : Babies at infancy and toddlers, reflect the action and feelings of adults around them. A baby'senvironment should reflect healthy, sanitary and stimulating surroundings. During infancy, personality traits are being formed. Babies characteristics thrive on consistency in daily schedules and learning environment.
(Juliana)

FUTURE LEARNING ABILITY : Babies brains are developing rapidly with connections triggered by all five senses. Without appropriate reactions by adults, the infant's ability to connect to the real world during this growing phase would be greatly affected. There are critical periods during which learning occurs. the appropriate sequencing of these learning episodes must be understood so that babies are given every opportunity to benefit and grow.( Fadia and juliana)

EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENTS : We know that babies are not able to take care of themselves.  They need nurturing adults in their environment to care for them. and an emotional bond develops with babies when care givers respond through hugging, cuddling, rocking and talking.
At Pine Tree, we provide a balanced schedule that meets all the needs of your child:
We listen to babies by interpreting their cries, demeanor, physical looks, and moods. We interact with them on a continual basis to insure that all the babies in our care receive sensory stimulation. We are lead by his need as we provide napping time, diapering time, feeding time and play time. We  are constantly sanitizing and disinfecting  the child's environment. Our feeding area is separated from our diapering area. Sanitation procedures are clearly defined for all our staff. We provide a daily communication record of your child's day. We list when and what was eaten, diaper changing information, and general observational notes. We help you and your child make natural transition into the next age group. We note the accomplishments of major milestones that are observed while your child is in our care.( Fadia and Juliana)

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT: babies imitate the sounds and tones of word used by people around them. Care givers are provided with babies curriculum that guides them through appropriate activities. These activities are based on the age and stage of infants. Our curriculum strongly reflects language development through a variety of verbal and musical activities. (Juliana)
